Yes I am still alive. Life has been a little crazy for the Nelson's. We have had a bout of bad luck lately in the heath department. Garrett had a tooth absess which gave him a nasty infection and made him very sick. Then he had surgery on his nose, to help him breath better(scar band removal). In the middle of all of this I got a nasty cold/sinus infection and Kody came home from school with pink eye. Aahhhh! But we are all doing better and that is a blessing.

We had a blast getting ready for Halloween. We had to make a big deal out of it cause it was Jacob's first one. Kody was a transformer (Optimus Prime) and Jacob was a tiger. They were so cute. Kody and I made a spooky house out of graham crackers, frosting and candy. He had so much fun and was so proud of it. This year he actually helped scoop out the insides of the pumpkins. Last year he would not get the "guts" all over his hands, so it was so fun to see him get way into it this year. We got creative with our pumpkins and did a haunted house and boo ghosts. They turned out really cute, but a little too much work. A simple smiley face would have been much easier. We ended our Halloween night by going to Trunk or Treat at the church. Jacob was a little unsure of the scary costumes and he clung to mom. It was so much fun, but we didn't last too long. Why? Because it was only 16 degrees outside and we were freezing. Yes craziness I know, but we live in Alaska and have to brave the extreme outdoors. We had a blast!

We also had our first parent teacher conferences with Kody's teachers. It was so much fun to hear what they had to say about him. At first I was a little nervous about what they would say cause he can be quite the character, but they just love him (or that is just what they are telling us). He is a very good student and doing great. He still loves school. His favorite class is P.E. and technology. So that was a very fun first for us!

Jacob is still trying to conquer crawling. He isn't up on all fours, but the little guy sure gets around by rolling or scooting. I have been busy trying to baby proof things. I forgot how much stuff you have to put out of reach.

But that is a quick update on our family! Hopefully life will slow down just a bit. HaHa I know, but it is a great dream.

You have been busy! I heard about the freezing conditions for Halloween. Yikes! I don't remember it ever being that cold at the end of October when we lived in AK...of course, there was always tons of snow :)

Yeah it was crazy weird! I would gladly welcome tons of snow cause then there would actually be a reason for it to be so cold :o)

Fun pictures. I love your smile box slides. Devin and I and the kids took a little jaunt the other day and visited a place I think Garrett and you would appreciate. Watch for my post, cause it is specially for you guys!
