Diabetes Walk

Today was Kody's schools annual Diabetes Walk and the day was perfect with lots of sunshine :o) I have to say it turned into more of a run than a walk. The kids were so excited to be outside during school and the sunshine just gave them an added burst of energy. Jacob and I went and joined in the walk and it was so much fun.

Kody has family members with diabetes and was determined to earn money for the cause. He called friends and family explained what his school was doing and asked for people to sponsor him in the walk. He was so grown up. But his hard work paid off and he raised $90. He was so proud. A cousin of his sponsored him and I explained to him that they had diabetes. He said that he would walk so the doctors could help make him better. How precious is that. What a great way to instill giving to others in my little guy! It was a great day and we are so glad that we could give to such a great cause.

Kody wouldn't stand still long enough for me to get a picture, so most of them are of him running except for when he was eating his ice cream treat.
