Garrett had to take his work car in for repairs, so we were in different vehicles. It had been snowing and the roads were really slick. I hate driving on snowy roads. Well Garrett had to stop to help a fellow co-worker pulled off the road right in front of me. As I started to slow the Explorer started to slide and before I knew it I was spinning. All I could do was pray that I wouldn't flip, get hit or slide off the road. I was definitely being watched over and thankfully after a full 360 turn I came to a stop in one piece. The other cars were well out of my way and I was still on the road. Scared to death, but so grateful that nothing bad had happened.
Nope that's not the end of our night. We finally got to the restaurant and I was so ready to relax and enjoy my husband. Before we were seated, Garrett called to check on the boys and we found out that Jacob had just fallen backwards off their couch, hit their coffee table and had a gash in the back of his head. So we rush back to get him and then head to the ER. When Jacob realized where we were he tensed up and was not happy to be back at the hospital. He would not let me put him down. After about 4 hours of joyous time in the ER and 2 staples later we were headed home. Poor little guy has had a very rough week between his surgery and owy, but he was such a brave boy.
So needless to say I am going to listen to those promptings next time! Happy Anniversary to us! Hopefully next year won't be so exciting!!!

Poor Jacob and Mommy! Wow, you Nelsons really have had a rough week. Sounds like you need some good R&R, maybe some ice cream in front of a good movie or something like that. Hope things aren't so exciting for you guys for a little bit. You've got our prayers. Love you!
Holy Cow! What a memorable date! I am glad it didn't turn out any worse. I was getting tense reading your post and then I remembered that if it was really that bad we would get a call and not be reading about it on your blog :). Sure do love you. Give your little Jacob a kiss for me.
Yikes! Ok, I hate driving in the snow. And I learned to drive in AK! I'm so glad that you were safe. And hugs to Jacob. Poor little guy -- he has definitely had a rough time lately.
I'm so sorry! Wow, I can't believe how fast life can change! I hope all is better now!
Jacob sure looks like a trooper in his bandages. It will probably be harder to take his sucker away with the rough time he has been having though, huh?
Ouch! Poor little guy! I remember my mom doing that same thing and they ended up in a fender bender. She listens now...Glad all is ok now. I think that its sometimes worse on moms than kids.
