Keep Us In Your Prayers

It has been quite a while since I have posted, but life has been throwing us some challenges. Our biggest one is Kody has had strep throat about 4 times since September and just can't seem to get rid of it. We finish up a dose of antibiotics and a couple days later here it comes again. It is just attacking his body. Well last week he decided to have major reactions to two different antibiotics and had a huge rash/hives all over his body. We took him to the doctor on Saturday and she put on yet another antibiotic. Well about 3 hours later he broke out in another bout of rash/hives and his ankles and wrist were swollen. The doctor told us we needed to go to the ER to have tests run to rule out Rheumatic Fever. Thank goodness all of the tests came back normal and they have ruled out rheumatic fever for now. They gave him steroids and benadryl to control the rash/hives and we have to keep him on benadryl to keep it under control until the antibiotics are out of his system. So needless to say he is extremely allergic to all types of penicillin. His body has started attacking not only the infection, but his good antibodies as well so that is why the allergic reaction was so bad.

We go back to the doctor tomorrow and then we are going to see an Ear, Nose and Throat doctor on Friday to see if we can get his tonsils taken out. Hopefully if they come out things will start to look up for him. He has been such a trooper through all of this and so brave through all of the testing. We keep telling him that there are bad guys and good guys fighting in his body and right now the bad guys are winning, so he has to do everything to help his good guys. He is so cute cause when he takes his medicine he says he his bombing the bad guys. Bomb away I say. Go away bad guys!!!

But we are keeping a positive out look and trying to keep up with the Holiday spirit as much as possible. We are just praying that the doctors can give us some answers and we can get him well soon. We will keep you posted on his progress. Hope you are all enjoying this Holiday Season and know that we love all of you and miss you a ton.

Poor little guy! Darn it that we have to find these things out the hard way! It sure doesn't make it easier as mom, because you can't do a dang thing! Hope you get rid of those nasty tonsils soon, you don't need them anyways! Good luck and merry Christmas!
